Hehehe. I get that kitty doesn't even know what the word "quest" means. And "steal". How is that gonna hurt a dragon?
For a moment, let's imagine you're a hero: would you just walk around asking various people to join your crew? I bet 9 out of 10 of them wouldn't be much concerned about justice and fair goals. I guess more logical way would be engaging your old and trusted friends or at least waiting for someone to prove his rightful intentions; still, in such comics, even "thieves" appear to be righteous.
Other thing you'd have to care about is capabilities of your co-fighters. You don't wanna be dragging along somebody completely useless on a dangerous quest, even if he's as cute as the cutest fluffy kitten. Or, for instance, someone who keeps stabbing his toe and can't walk fast.
Another trend of webcomics is hero, wandering around aimlessly, like if quests are there, waiting at every corner for you to pick them up. People usually go somewhere with a cause.
Guys, RPG games <- -> reality! Now I know that webcomics aren't reality either, but if you're already trying to submit webcomics to the rules of RPG games, you might at least check for reality once in a while!
