How Not To Introduce Your Characters #15

Contributed by Phalanx of The Jaded.

Phalanx says:

I remember someone once asking in the forums about how you should NOT introduce your characters.

The answers she got were pretty instantaneous:

"All at Once"

Terotrous says:

If you're a bad-ass, "hmph" is the only thing
you're ever allowed to say.
"How's it going, man?"
"Hmph"
"Which way did the bad guys go?"
"Hmph"
"All right, what's the password?"
"Hmph" *gets shot*
"Hey there, what's you're name..."

mcDuffies says:

If we strictly follow reality, characters will be introduced all at once. Then again, in reality there's no such things as mercenary gangs. Here and there we'll bend reality to please reader. And introducing all characters in a bulk is dull, uninteresting. Don'r rely on that reader will go through bad beginning because it's supposed to get better later. More likely he'll quit before good part. And remember: every shortcut you decide to take in making a comic, results in slightly less good comic.
