Phalanx says:
The main thing that annoys me about a lot of action scenes is that the
creator is compelled to redundancy and have the characters state the
obvious to what's going on just in case the reader doesn't get it.
There's such a thing as being subtle, and sometimes not being so can be
an insult to the reader's intelligence. Let the readers see, what's
going on instead of just telling them outright!
If the picture can show what's going on well enough, then for the love
of god there's no need to add text already. Especially when the text is
laden with stuff that you don't need to know. Remember, Empty vessels
make the most noise, and actions speak louder than words.
mcDuffies says:
"With great skills and speed, Jimmy Noar jumped behind the bed, at the same time very precisely shooting at Willain mcEvilone who ducked under the umbrella stand."
I'm not really sure how to draw skills, though. Maybe a little rays of light, shining from the character.
