This reminds me of something else: if a group of artists is doing a jam comic (one page each artist) and there’s some disagreement among them, one of artists tries to spite others by doing such “plot twist”, or just because he thinks it’s funny (which is, needless to say, not). The hate of other artists toward him is well deserved.
